In this interview Heinberg also talks about the need to make renewable energy infrastructure self-hosting, to borrow a geek phrase. In other words, we need to be using energy that's renewable to make PV panels and wind turbines and so on. Imagine if all the renewables powering hyperscale datacentres, so corporations can spy on us and manipulate us with generative models, was being used to manufacture sustainable tech.
@ensslen But unfortunately many of the gains we're making in renewables is being offset by the increase in consumption from AI and the cloud.
Oh and Shane Jones wants more gas production.

Warum? die Zahl der Menschen auf der Erde steigt täglich... der Mensch ist ein Säugetier mit einer hohen Reproduktionsrate. Und dank Hygiene und guter Basisversorgung vermehren wir uns zu Lasten des Planeten immer weiter.
Wird sind Milliarden Individuen vom aussterben entfernt.
Warum die kostbaren medizinischen Ressourcen verschwenden? Warum nicht lieber damit die Millionen von "einfachen" Fehlbildungen behandeln, die wir verursachen, weil wir die Natur nicht mehr aussortieren lassen?
Und ja klar, jeder Einzelfall ist schlimm, aber als Spezies ist es sinnlos. Organspenden sind ein reines 1st World Problem.
