That is brilliant. I'm not a parent myself, but I do believe it is important for fathers to take an active part in their children's upbringing. But that is not only their personal responsibility -- society also has to make it possible for them. That also means getting rid of wage disparity, for instance.

Ha, I love it!

What always got me was that my wife was judged if the babies weren't wearing spotless clothes when they were out and about, and people lined up to give me medals if they were dressed at all when I took them.

Also, I don't babysit my kids, I parent them. /rant

I read a statement the other day:
When have you ever heard a father question how he will maintain a work/ children life balance?

These "flip the script" ideas are genius!

Whenever you want to examine your own personal biases, looking at images like these helps a lot.

I'll be honest, I laughed.

The sight of prestigious men caring for the young & vulnerable is seen as funny, and not "funny" in a good way.

The right wing fosters public sentiment that values the opposite of caring for the vulnerable.

Love the art, which I read as normalizing, empowering, and encouraging active fathering -- that it can coexist with traditional masculine strengths. The article framing the artwork as a subversion of what these statues represent, and as a chastisement of men for failing to take responsibility is downright insulting.
