Had an interesting conversation with someone from the IETF about #multicast today.
Some folks have been trying to solve the problem of getting multicast streams from unicast only sources (Off-net Sourcing) such as browsers.
This happens to be something #Librecast built a demo for back in 2022 as part of #NGI0Discovery and which we're working on again now as part of #NGI0Core thanks to @nlnet so I think we might be able to help.

Klar, der 63-jährige Beamte im Ruhestand, der sich Sorgen ums Geld macht, ist sicher der durchschnittliche Rentner in Deutschland.
Zeigt aber gut, wo das Geld sitzt – und wo sich Werbung offenbar lohnt.
(Mein Opa war übrigens ab 56 Pensionär und ist 95 geworden.)

Meine Mutter ist genau am Ende des Monats, in dem sie 65 geworden ist, in Pension gegangen. Aber gut, sie war auch (wissenschaftliche) Bibliothekarin, das ist ein etwas ruhigerer Job als z.B. Lehrer.

Ich weiß. Die neun ARD-Anstalten machen das ja.
Nur tun große Unternehmen derzeit nicht unbedingt zu viel, damit man ihren Aussagen vertraut. Deren Ziel ist, Geld zu verdienen.
Und wie gesagt: werbefinanzierte Podcast-Apps verdienen auch an Inhalten, die andere bezahlt haben. Als Urheber runzel ich da zumindest mal die Stirn.

Als Antwort auf Marcel Roth • • •@Marcel die großen Plattformen wie Spotify verdienen Geld mit der Aufmerksamkeit, die wir (inklusive der ARD) in ihre Apps lenken. True.
Dagegen sind Podcatcher-Apps meist von kleinen Teams programmiert, verarbeiten sehr datensparsam unsere Feeds. Und genau diese Nutzung erschwert die ARD mit „Audiothek first“. @tomkalei
