In summer 2021, Carlotta and I talked about advent hymns and about pastorales in general, and I mentioned that "O Saviour, rend the heavens wide" (O Heiland, reiss die Himmel auf) is one of my favourite advent melodies. A while later, Carlotta sent me the sheet music to a pastorale she wrote based on this old hymn.
I recorded it on the 1911 Bernhard organ, and since the organ doesn't have any electronic helpers to change stops, you can see that I have to do some quick work myself during the piece.
